Papers of William B. O'Neal [manuscript], ca. 1930-1988.

The collection contains correspondence with friends and other architectural historians, chiefly re his books; drafts of book reviews by him; scrapbooks of clippings; publications of the American Association of Architectural Bibliographers, many of which he wrote or edited; and lists of University of Virginia publications, 1965-1969. Also grant proposals; reviews of his books; newsletters, broadsides, keepsakes, and exhibition catalogs; photographs of the headquarters of Reynolds Metal Company, Richmond, Va., and of several John Toole paintings; a Charles Smith print and a draft of an essay on Smith. Also books and journals on architectural history from his personal library. Correspondents include Virginius Dabney, Ise Gropius, Paul Mellon, Sir Herbert Read and Charles Smith.
